Belleville Sens announce details for upcoming Food Drive Night presented by Rosebush Energies

The Belleville Senators are today announcing details for the upcoming Food Drive Night, presented by Rosebush Energies.

Food Drive Night, presented by Rosebush Energies, will take place on Saturday December 3, 2022, when the Senators host the Utica Comets (New Jersey Devils). Fans attending the game at CAA Arena are being asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Gleaners Food Bank.

“Gleaners Food Bank needs many items, as the story goes ‘the stockings were hung with care, however the table was bare,” said Gleaners Food Bank Director of Operations Susanne Quinlan. “Gleaners Annual Food Drive was down 15 tonnes of food, so we need the support of Senators fans at this crucial time of year. In 2021 Gleaners served 5,669 food hampers out to community members in need and we’re looking at a 30% increase this year.”

Quinlan added that “thanks to the generosity of Kellogg’s the food bank does not need cereal”, but there are several other items that fans can drop off on game night including dry pasta and pasta sauce, beans, tuna, apple juice, soup, peanut butter, gluten free items, baby food and school snacks.

The food banks is also need of cash donations and we will have a debit machine available at the game to make a donation, while you can also donate at www.gleanersfoodbank.ca.

“The Belleville Sens are so pleased to be able to support Gleaners Food Bank, with the help of Rosebush Energies,” said Belleville Sens Manager of Business Operations Ben Cochrane. “We recognize the immense need for Gleaners and its services and hope hockey fans from across the Quinte Region will come together on December 3, to help us give back to members of the community who need an extra hand, especially during the holiday season.”

Gleaners Food Bank is a member of Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada and works very closely with these organizations, local businesses, local farmers and food distributors to bring donated food into the organization. Gleaners Food Bank operats the Tri-County Warehouse that serves seven other area food banks, multiple non-profit agencies and other organizations.
