Luke Krys '23 Signs Entry Level Contract with Dallas Stars

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Dallas Stars signed former Brown captain Luke Krys ’23 to a two-year entry level contract beginning in the 2024-25 season. The team announced the deal earlier in March.

Krys captained the Bears in 2022-23 and finished the campaign with 16 points along with 73 blocked shots. He spent the 2023-24 season with Providence College and collected 17 points in 35 games.

The Ridgefield, Connecticut native made his professional debut with the AHL’s Texas Stars on March 22 and recorded his first professional point with an assist on April 2. The following night, Krys recorded his first professional goal.

In 10 games with Texas, Krys has a goal and two points, an even rating, and 10 penalty minutes.

The Stars close out the AHL regular season with a two-game series against the Manitoba Moose (Apr. 19 & 20) in Cedar Park, Texas. The Texas Stars are fourth in the Central Division and have clinched a spot in the 2024 Calder Cup playoffs.

Krys joins several Bears in the North American professional ranks. Garnet Hathaway ’14 and Sam Lafferty ’18 play with the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks, respectively. Max Willman ’18 has split the season between the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets and is currently with the latter.

Lafferty and the Canucks lead the Pacific Division with 109 points and have clinched a berth in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs. Hathaway and the Flyers just missed out on the Stanley Cup playoffs with 87 points this season.

Tyler Bird ’18 rounds out the former Bears in the North American pro ranks. He is the assistant captain with the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears and collected 17 goals and 42 points in 72 games.
