The girls’ side of the South Shore was well represented again at TD Garden on Sunday, Match 17 for the annual slate of state championship hockey games.

Duxbury successfully defended its Division 2 crown by blanking Falmouth, 4-0, to complete a 24-3 campaign. The Dragons are halfway to the four consecutive state championships the program won from 2011-14.

Over in Div. 1, Notre Dame Academy came oh-so-close to claiming the title, only to be denied by St. Mary’s (Lynn) in a 5-4, triple-overtime thriller.

The South Shore could have had even more locals at the Garden, but Marshfield lost to Falmouth, 2-0, in the Div. 2 semifinals, and Archbishop Williams fell to St. Mary’s, 2-1, in overtime in the Div. 1 semis.

Throw in quarterfinal appearances by Hingham (Div. 1) and Canton and Milton (both Div. 2) and it was another fine season for girls hockey around here. Overall, 15 teams qualified for the postseason, and 10 of those won at least one round.

Now it’s time to put the finishing touches on the 2023-24 season. Let’s meet the Patriot Ledger/Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastics:
