Top-Seeded Bobcats Roll to Game 1 Victory

HAMDEN, Conn. — The top-seeded Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey program went one step closer to Lake Placid on Friday night, knocking off RPI by a 5-1Cha final in Game 1 of the ECAC Quarterfinals at M&T Bank Arena.

The Bobcats’ opened the scoring with Anthony Cipollone, who went head first into the net after deflecting the puck across the line to give the hosts a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Quinnipiac added two more in the second, with Jacob Quillan and Andon Cerbone potting tallies. Quillan got a fortunate bounce off the glass to bury home and Cerbone was the beneficiary of a give and go with Mason Marcellus, giving the hosts a 3-1 lead at the time.

Both Cerbone and Marcellus finished with multi-point nights, as Cerbone had a goal and assist while Marcellus dished a trio of helpers.
