12 Bears Earn HFHCA Academic Squad Honors

Kiki de Bruiijne, Claire Hind, and Sabine Hommes are four time honorees of the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

Kiki de Bruijne, Clair Hind, Sabine Hommes Named To List For Fourth Time

BERKELEY – Four-time honorees Kiki de Bruijne, Claire Hind, and Sabine Hommes were among the 12 California field hockey players named to the 2023 NHFCA Academic squad, as announced by the NFHCA on Wednesday morning.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Joining the Cal trio along with 976 other student-athletes from across the country are Golden Bear teammates Devon Christensen, Elana Eisenberg, Tina Jolly, Morgan Kallmann, Mia Katsuyoshi, Isabelle Panikowski, Holly Pears, Audry Post, and Olivia Sharratt.

de Bruijne, Hind, and Hommes are three of the 181 athletes who have appeared on the award list for the fourth time. It is the third time on the list for Eisenbert, and second straight appearance for Jolly, Kallmann, Katsuyoshi, and Sharrat.
