THREE STARS

First star: Michael Sadowski, High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny

HP-WV-K looked down and out against Vernon in the second period of its Charette Cup semifinal. Sadowski got his team back into it. He had a hat trick and two assists to key a come-from-behind 5-4 overtime win. He scored his team’s first three goals and recorded a secondary assist on the game-tying goal. Sadowski capped a five-point game with the primary assist on the game-winner.

Second star: Joe Fenton, Edison-Metuchen-J.P. Stevens

The tri-op secured a wild 11-9 win against East Brunswick-Spotswood-South and Fenton had one of the best offensive performances of the season in it. He hit the back of the net four times and picked up six assists for an eye-opening 10 points. Of those 10 points, nine of them were primary. This is the seventh performance with at least 10 points in 2023-24.

Third star: Tom LaFrance, Oratory

Orartory earned a big 2-1 win against Verona-Glen Ridge on Monday thanks to a terrific effort from LaFrance in goal. He allowed a goal in the first period but was perfect the rest of the way. When the final horn sounded, he had turned aside 31 of the 32 shots that came his way.
