Babson Men’s Club Ice Hockey, Men’s Polo Teams Win National Titles

A pair of Babson College club sports teams excelled at the highest levels this spring, as both the men’s club ice hockey team and men’s polo team won their first national championships.

The Babson men’s club hockey team defeated Binghamton University, 6-2, on March 23 in the title game of the College Hockey Federation Cup in Philadelphia. Goalie Tim Carpenter ’23 was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The club hockey team of 25 student-athletes is coached by Matt Baldino.

“This is a massive accomplishment,” club president Nathaniel Althoff ’22 said. “The club hockey team has never won a national title and has seen an extreme amount of growth over the past three years.”

The Babson men’s polo team won the inaugural Division II Men’s National Intercollegiate Championship, defeating Skidmore College, 13-8, on March 27 at Legends Polo Club in Kaufman, Texas, in a rematch of the Northeastern Regional final.
