Former Wild Forward Clears Waivers

Mason Shaw played in the first few preseason games for the Winnipeg Jets but was placed on waivers by the team for the purpose of assignment to the American Hockey League (AHL) on Thursday.

Shaw, 25, played in 82 NHL games with Minnesota over three seasons. He has recorded eight goals, 12 assists, 20 points, 122 hits, and 118 penalty minutes in those 82 games.

The former Wild player signed a one-year contract with the Jets after the Wild let him go to free agency. He signed a contract worth $775,000 in the NHL and $350,000 in the AHL with $425,000 guaranteed.
