Pogge, who was drafted in the third round of the 2004 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, worked for the Columbus Blue Jackets last season as a goaltending consultant.
Having enjoyed a 17-year pro career, Pogge suited up in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, and Germany throughout his playing time.
In Pogge’s last season (with the DEL’s Grizzlys Wolfsburg in 2022-23), he posted a 9-7-0 record to go along with a 2.74 GAA and a .906 SV% in 18 regular season appearances.
After retiring, Pogge has worked for the Blue Jackets as well as Team Canada as a goaltending coach/consultant.
With Pogge now joining Abbotsford, he will be taking over from Marko Torenius who joined Vancouver as their new goalie coach.
