Burke spent this past season working for the Portland Winterhawks in the same role.

Jeff Malcolm, the Wolf Pack’s previous goalie coach, has been named the goalie coach for the Rangers.

Born in Scottsdale, Ariz., Burke was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Draft. Although he never played pro, Burke enjoyed a five-year junior career where he suited up in the WHL (Portland Winterhawks & Calgary Hitmen) and the OHL (London Knights).

Burke also spent four seasons at the University of Alberta (U Sports), posting a 37-8-0 record to go along with a 2.08 GAA and a .916 SV%.

Since retiring in 2020, Burke has worked for the TPH Thunder 18U AAA as a development coach and for the Winterhawks.

With Burke making the jump to the Wolf Pack, he will join his dad (fellow goalie and NHL alum Sean) at the pro level. Sean currently serves as the director of goaltending for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Still just 29 years old, Burke has risen quickly through the ranks and should be able to help the Rangers’ continue their storied track record of developing goalies.
