Utah HC's New Sled Hockey Team To Participate In Park City Tournament

The NHL has long been a partner with USA Hockey to bring professional sled hockey to their franchise’s home cities.

Now, it’s Utah’s turn.

As first reported by Kirsten Kohlwey of The TownLift: Park City News, the NHL has approved the usage of its name and likeness to create the Utah Sled Hockey Club.

Its first appearance will be at the Mountain West Sled Hockey Tournament on September 27 to 29 in Park City at the Ice Arena, where the Utah Hockey Club recently held its prospect development camp in July (highlights here).

According to the article, the tournament will also feature an All-Star Game at 7 p.m. on the 27th, featuring the Utah Grizzlies against a team of representatives from the participating squads:

The tournament will also feature a “learn to sled” event after the championship game on Sunday at 12:45p.m.

You can already buy tickets here from $5 to $15, and for just $40, you can have a picture snapped with and meet players from your favorite team.

It’ll be a great compliment to the opening weekend of pre-season hockey for Utah, which will celebrate its pre-season home opener September 23rd against Los Angeles.
