Tyler Seguin, Logan Stankoven both score twice as Stars win pivotal Game 3

The Dallas Stars continued their Rangers-like road playoff run on Saturday and took control of their second-round series vs. the Avalanche with a 4-1 Game 3 win.

Dallas now leads the series 2-1 and has reclaimed home-ice advantage. They’ll look to seize control with a 3-1 lead in Monday’s Game 4.

Dallas, the NHL’s best road team during the regular season, wins the first road content of the series to claim a 2-1 series lead over Colorado. Game 4 is at 8:30 p.m. Monday night in Denver.

Third period, 0:28 remaining: Logan Stankoven adds another empty-netter for good measure to give the Stars a pair of two-goal scorers Saturday. The Avalanche won’t make a comeback in this one.

Third period, 1:37 remaining: Tyler Seguin with a dagger. His second goal of the game, an empty-netter with a minute and a half left, gives the Stars a two-goal lead. Barring a Colorado miracle, Dallas will take control of this series with a Game 3 win.

Third period, 3:30 remaining: The Stars have successfully played keep-away for the first 17 minutes of this third period. They cling to a 2-1 lead, three minutes from claiming a 2-1 series lead as well.
