McLinskey, Grande, named Atlantic Hockey Scoring and Goaltending Champions

Worcester, Mass. – Senior Jason Grande and junior Liam McLinskey were named the Atlantic Hockey Goaltending and Scoring Champions, respectively, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Grande led Atlantic Hockey in the regular season with a .926 save percentage in league play and held the second-highest mark in goals-against average at 2.20. Over the full season, Grande’s 2.20 goals-against average and .928 save percentage led Atlantic Hockey, and were the third highest marks in the nation in each category. His .928 save percentage is also the second-highest mark in the Holy Cross Division I era, while his 2.01 goals-against average is a new program record. Grande becomes the third goaltender in Crusader history to win the title, joining Ben Conway (2004-05) and Tony Quesada (2005-06).

McLinskey, who was just named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year, led the scoring race in Atlantic Hockey this season with 31 points, thanks to his 11 goals and 20 assists in league play. McLinskey becomes the second Crusader to be named scoring champion, joining Tyler McGregor, who earned the title following the 2005-2006 season.
