THREE STARS
First star: Sydney Fogu, Bayonne-Belleville-McNair
She’s done it again. Fogu joined some really exclusive company on Friday, when she notched the 2,000th save of her fantastic career. It didn’t come easy. She faced a staggering 72 shots and stopped 69 of them in her squad’s 4-3 win against West Orange.
Second star: Michael Ferrante, Fair Lawn-Bergenfield-Dumont
The 100-point club continues to grow. Ferrante added his name to the list thanks to a six-point night in his team’s 12-2 win over Paramus-Lyndhurst. Ferrante scored four times, including a natural hat trick to open the scoring, and added two assists.
Third star: James Tarabocchia, Don Bosco Prep
Tarabocchia backstopped Don Bosco Prep to one of the more impressive wins of the week. He slammed the door on Delbarton, stopping all 38 shots he faced to pick up a 3-0 shutout victory. It’s his second consecutive shutout and fourth on the season.
