CHN Staff Report
Denver, whose 8-3-1 start has been marred only by question marks in goal, has added Paxton Geisel to the roster for the second half.
Geisel is a 19-year old goalie who has been playing for Muskegon in the USHL this season. He was originally recruited with the idea of him coming in next season.
Junior Matt Davis was the No. 1 coming into the season, but he hasn’t played since the fifth game of the season, a game in which he allowed a few soft goals in a 5-5 tie with Augustana. Though not confirmed, it appears Davis has been hurt, because he hasn’t even dressed since then. Freshman Freddie Halyk has played since then, going 5-2 with an .873 save percentage.
Denver leads that nation in most goals scored per game, but its team save percentage is third-worst, behind Bemidji State and Army.
