MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced their weekly award winners for the week of Jan. 9-15 Monday afternoon which included two players from the Norwich University Women’s Ice Hockey Team.
For the third time this season Olivia Boyer (Saint Paul, Minn.) was named the Conference Rookie of the Week. Boyer continues her strong freshman campaign by notching three assists against UMass Boston along with a goal against Johnson & Wales. This performance puts Boyer 11th in the NEHC in points (7 Goals, 7 Assists) and makes her the highest scoring first year in the conference.
Senior captain Ann-Frederique Guay (St-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Que.) was also given the distinction of honor roll. Guay also tallies a goal and three assists on the week which included her 100th career point when she assisted on Taylor Girouard’s (Burlington, Mass.) goal at 0:26 of the second period against UMass Boston. Guay’s goal came with 25 seconds left in the same contest tying the game up. This performance puts Guay in fifth place in total points in Division III.
The Cadets currently sit in second in the NEHC with a 10-3-1 record, 8-1-1 in conference.
