Boys Ice Hockey: Montville and Bernards play to 2-2 tie

Each team trailed the other at one point during the game but would later draw even as Montville and Bernards played to a 2-2 tie, at Mennen Arena in Morristown.

After a scoreless first period Jimmy Hathaway broke the deadlock in the second period to give Bernards (2-1-1) a 1-0 lead which it would take into the second intermission.

Connor Howard would end up tieing the game for Montville (2-0-1) before Matthew Trifari gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead. Ryan Leonard would later score the final goal of the game to tie the score at 2-2.

Alexis Riley made 23 saves on 25 shots for Montville, and Baylyn Shankman made 20 saves on 22 shots for Bernards. Montville was 0-for-4 on the powerplay and Bernards couldn’t score on its lone powerplay of the night.
