GAME DAY | Team USA Wraps Preliminary Play Against Finland

The U.S. holds an undefeated 7-0-0-0 advantage all time over Finland at the Under-18 Women’s World Championship. The U.S. has a 38-5 scoring advantage in those seven meetings.

LAST TIME AGAINST FINLAND

The U.S. last faced Finland on Jan. 14, 2024, in the semifinals of the 2024 tournament. Josie St. Martin tallied two goals, while Layla Hemp recorded 14 saves in net. Mary Derrenbacher recorded a goal in the second period as well.

STICKNEY STANDS STRONG

Goaltender Morgan Stickney has recorded 120 minutes of shutout hockey in the crease for Team USA. The netminder blanked Japan with a four-save shutout, before posting a 21-save shutout against Sweden. Her save percentage (100%) and goals against average (0.00) lead the tournament. 

SHUTOUT STREAK

Team USA has held its opponents scoreless for the opening two games, 120 minutes of game play. It marks the first time since the 2016 tournament that the U.S. has opened U18WWC play with two back-to-back shutouts.
