The Minnesota Wild forward has now played 21 games this year. He scored his first NHL goal on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
But the Hurricanes ended up challenging the goal for goaltender interference. It was eventually overturned after Jones clipped Hurricanes’ goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov before the goal.
Jones, 25, has played in 21 games now for the Wild this year and has no points. He was close to getting his first NHL point against the Chicago Blackhawks on the 23rd of December.
That play was ultimately overturned as well. Jones clipped Arvid Soderblom and was called for goaltender interference.
The 6-foot forward put up a ton of points in Juniors, including a 102 point season with the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL in 2018-19. He has four goals and 12 points in 14 AHL games this year with the Iowa Wild as well.
