Ohio State

MANKATO, Minn. – Wisconsin women’s hockey freshman Maggie Scannell scored twice to lead the No. 1 Badgers o a 5-0 shutout win at Minnesota State on Saturday afternoon.

For Scannell, it marked her second multi-goal game for the Badgers (19-1-0, 13-1-0 WCHA). Laila Edwards, Caroline Harvey and Casey O’Brien also found the back of the Maverick’s (6-8-1, 2-8-1) net in UW’s final game of 2024.

Edwards doubled the Badgers lead late in the second period. O’Brien created a turnover on defense and broke out of the zone. She launched a pass across the slot to Edwards to one-time into the back of the net. Wisconsin allowed a season-low one shot on goal in the first period.
