The Columbus Blue Jackets are the Pittsburgh Penguins’ closest geographical rival. They are less than 200 miles from PPG Paints Arena, some 100 miles closer than the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals.

Considering that Columbus has only been around for a quarter century, its rivalry with Pittsburgh isn’t as intense as it could be. Like their two playoff meetings, the Penguins have dominated the Blue Jackets, thanks to a 38-10-0-6 record, including going 8-3 in the postseason.
