Duke Opens ACC Postseason Action at Wake Forest Tuesday


The First Hit

  • Duke opens ACC Championship action Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., taking on host Wake Forest. The Blue Devils are the No. 2 seed with a 6-2 mark in ACC play, while the Demon Deacons are the No. 7 seed with a 2-6 record versus ACC foes. 
  • Duke is 7-1 in its last eight games with all seven victories being shutouts. The Blue Devils are 22-42 all-time in ACC Championship action and 7-5 as the No. 2 seed. This will be the 19th ACC Championship meeting between Duke and Wake Forest with the Blue Devils leading 11-7.
  • Wake Forest enters postseason action with a 7-10 record and is averaging 1.71 goals per game on offense and giving up 1.76 goals per game. Lauren Storey is the top scorer with seven goals and 17 points. Faye Janse has six goals while Ellie Todd anchors the defensive effort with  3.88 saves per game. She faces 10.4 shots per game.
