East Lansing, Mich. — Michigan State forward Tanner Kelly (San Diego, Calif.) has been named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week (Tues. Oct. 29).
Kelly had a goal and an assist in each game as MSU swept a pair of games from homestanding Canisius (3-0, 4-1). Kelly’s Friday goal was the game-winner.
Kelly has appeared in 113 career games during his four-year career at MSU, and owns an 18-28-46 scoring line (+8). He has five points in six games to start the 2024-25 campaign. He is the fourth weekly honoree for MSU this season, as both Isaac Howard and Daniel Russell were recognized after the series at Lake Superior State and Charlie Stramel was as well after the Boston College series.
MSU is a perfect 4-0 on the road this season and sits at 5-1 overall headed into a bye week. The Spartans are ranked No. 3 in both national polls, up one spot after the road sweep.
