With the Senators having Linus Ullmark and Anton Forsberg as their NHL goaltenders, Tokarski is likely not competing for an NHL job. However, the veteran goalie could make a real case for himself to earn a deal from Ottawa to play for their AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators.

Tokarski, 35, spent the entirety of this past season with the Buffalo Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. In 24 appearances for the AHL squad last season, the Watson, Saskatchewan native posted an 11-9-3 record, a 3.32 goals-against average (GAA), and a .890 save percentage (SV%).

In 42 appearances over two seasons with the Sabres from 2020-21 to 2021-22, Tokarski sported a 12-20-7 record, a .901 SV%, and a 3.35 GAA.

In 80 career NHL games over nine seasons split between the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks, Sabres, and Pittsburgh Penguins, Tokarski has a 23-34-12 record, a .902 SV%, and a 3.15 GAA.
