The former Wild goaltender Alex Stalock has called it a career. The veteran netminder played 179 games in the NHL between the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, and Chicago Blackhawks.

Stalock, 37, recently announced his retirement and will begin a post-playing career as a broadcaster for the Sharks.
The Minnesota native played his college hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. He went 39-44-17 in 101 games for the Bulldogs with a .910 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.48 goals-against average (GAA).
After being drafted by the Sharks, Stalock played in 62 NHL games from 2011 to 2016 with the Sharks. He went 24-19-7 with a .911 SV% and a 2.37 GAA. From 2016 to 2020, Stalock played for his hometown team.
He went 37-30-11 in 89 games (77 starts) with a 2.77 GAA and a .908 SV% with five shutouts. Stalock played 28 games as the Wild’s backup to Devan Dubnyk in 2017-18. He went 10-10-4 with a 2.85 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.
Stalock reached the 20-win mark in a season for the first time in 2019-20.

In his final season in Minnesota, Stalock started the year as the team’s backup and finished the year as the starter in the 2020 NHL Playoffs. He started four games for the Wild that year and went 1-3-0 with a 3.03 GAA and a .897 SV%.
Stalock played in 27 NHL games for the Blackhawks during the 2022-23 season and spent all of last year in the AHL. He has now retired from the NHL with a 70-65-20 record in 179 games. He had a career 2.77 GAA, .908 SV%, and 11 shutouts.
