The New York Rangers have signed forward Adam Erne to a professional tryout contract.
Erne has played eight seasons in the NHL thus far for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings and Edmonton Oilers where he’s recorded 41 goals, 50 assists and 91 points in 379 career games.
This past season, the 29-year-old played just 24 games for the Oilers and tallied one goal, one assist and two points while averaging 7:49 minutes of ice time.
The Lightning drafted Erne in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft and he spent three seasons in Tampa Bay before being traded to the Red Wings in 2019.
Erne now will have an opportunity to earn a roster spot with the Rangers at training camp.
