October 10th marks the first game of the season for the Minnesota Wild which also is the home opener. Just 53 days away from Wild hockey. Only three players in Wild history have worn number 53 and Alex Tuch was one of them.

Tuch, 28, was the Wild’s 18th overall pick from the 2014 NHL Draft. He played two seasons of College Hockey with the Boston College Eagles before playing one season in the Wild’s organization.
In 57 games with the Iowa Wild in 2016-17, Tuch recorded 18 goals, 19 assists, and 37 points. He was recalled by the Wild that same season and played in six games with Minnesota.
He was traded in the offseason to the Vegas Golden Knights in the Expansion Draft for a 3rd round pick in 2018 NHL Draft and Expansion Draft considerations. Vegas ended up selecting Erik Haula with their pick.
The 6-foot-4 forward went on to spend four seasons in Vegas before he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in a deal for Jack Eichel.
Tuch has spent the last three seasons in Buffalo and notched a career high in goals (36), assists (43), and points (79) in 2022-23. He has 131 goals, 184 assists, and 315 points in 454 career NHL games across eight seasons.
