What does the number 19 mean to you?
“I was a big fan of Jonathan Toews growing up and he wore 19, so I’ve worn it since I was young.”
What have you prioritized this summer to prepare for the upcoming season?
I’m trying to get quicker and stronger in my lower body.
What NHL player would you compare your game to?
I watched Jonathan Toews a lot when I was young. I try to play a 200-foot game and be reliable in the defensive zone. In today’s game, probably Anze Kopitar.
What was your most memorable fan interaction?
A fan in Iowa had one of my Kamloops Blazers jerseys and I signed it after a game.
What did you think of Team Canada’s goal song (Heave Away) during the 2023 World Juniors?
“I really liked it. We sure heard it a lot because we scored a lot of goals that tournament.”
What is your favorite song right now?
Anything by Morgan Wallen.
What is your favorite TV show?
The Office.
What is your favorite holiday?
Halloween or Christmas
If you could be any character from the movie Cars, who would you be?
Lightning McQueen.
Iowa or Iowa State?
Iowa State.
What is your favorite thing about playing hockey?
I like being around a team and being with the guys. I get to do what I love every day.
What is your favorite thing about Minnesota?
The people are really nice. There’s plenty to do and a lot of lakes.
What color should I paint my nails?
“Iowa Wild green.”
