LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Fourteen current and former members of the Wisconsin women’s hockey team earned invites to the 2024 USA Hockey National Festival, the organization announced on Thursday.
Current Badgers Lacey Eden, Laila Edwards, Cassie Hall, Caroline Harvey, Vivian Jungels, Ava McNaughton, Casey O’Brien, Laney Potter and Kirsten Simms all earned spots at the eight-day camp at The Olympic Center along with former Badgers Britta Curl, Jesse Compher, Hilary Knight, Abby Roque and Anna Wilgren.
The Festival includes 75 players who are currently either playing professionally or at the collegiate level, and will be held concurrently with an under-18 evaluation camp, also in Lake Placid.
Coming out of the two events, USA Hockey will select rosters for the U.S. Under-18 Select and U.S. Collegiate Select Teams, who will each face Canada in a three-game series at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, from Aug. 14-17.
