COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jenna Buglioni is set to captain the Ohio State women’s hockey team in 2024-25.
The fifth-year forward will don the “C” for the reigning national champions alongside teammates Amanda Thiele, Riley Brengman and Makenna Webster, who will all serve as assistant captains.
The Buckeyes start competition this fall in a home series against WCHA rival Minnesota Duluth on Sept. 21-22.
Buglioni, who is entering her fifth-year of eligibility in 2024-25, will captain the Buckeyes this upcoming season. The native of Port Moody, British Columbia, has already won two national titles with Ohio State in 2022 and 2024 and she has been a top offensive weapon for the Buckeyes since her freshman year.
Buglioni was top-five in overall scoring last season as a senior by posting 15 goals and 23 assists over 35 contests. The 22-year-old forward previously wore an “A” for Ohio State but will now be the sole captain of the team.
Riley Brengman will serve as an assistant captain in 2024-25. The right-shot defender from China Township, Michigan, has won two national titles with Ohio State and she has been a top shut-down defender for the Buckeyes since her first season on campus. Brengman is entering her fifth-year of eligibility this fall after registering a goal, 12 assists and a plus-44 rating in 2023-24.
Makenna Webster will also be wearing an “A” for the Buckeyes in 2024-25. The forward from St. Louis, Missouri, started out her collegiate career at Wisconsin and won a national title there in 2021 before she transferred to Ohio State as a junior. Webster won another national title, this time with the Buckeyes, in 2024. As a senior, the Shattuck-St. Mary’s alum posted 12 goals and 14 assists through 31 contests.
