LAST TIME AGAINST FINLAND
The U.S. and Finland met last Saturday in the third preliminary round game of the 2024 IIHFWomen’s World Championship. Kendall Coyne Schofield scored twice as the U.S. defeated Finland, 5-3.
IN THE SEMIFINALS
The U.S. holds a 17-1-1 (W-L-T) all-time record in semifinal play at the Women’s World Championship. The U.S. has not lost a semifinal game since 2009. Team USA and Finland have previously met three times in semifinal action, with the U.S. winning all three times.
FRANKEL TALLIES THIRD SHUTOUT OF TOURNAMENT
Goaltender Aerin Frankel has tallied three shutouts in four games for Team USA. It ties the mark for the most shutouts in a single tournament in Women’s Worlds history and is the first time since Kim St. Pierre did it for Canada in 2005.
