Matty (Matt Villalta) has moved into second place for most single season appearances by a goalie with 41 appearances; beating out Adin Hill’s 41. And he already has has the Roadrunners Goaltender single season win record with now 24 Any big parties planned for him? Have you taken the goalies out at all?

I did see that he broke the wins record. This is the first I have heard of the single season appearances. So, I’ll have to put my thinking cap on. Yeah. We went to Riley’s (Riley’s Craft Pizza & Drink) earlier for a Goaltender dinner. (with Matt Villalta and Dylan Wells).

Steven Kampfer, Roadrunners Captain

How’s (son) Teddy doing?  Any plans for Monster Trucks or has he been Old Tucson?

He’s good. I was actually here last night for an hour and a half with him. He was on the ice with the Little Howlers. It was fun to get out here and watch him skate. He was out here with the eight-year-olds or whatever. He’s four so he’s small, but he’s a big boy out there. It’s fun to get him out there and see all the other kids interact with him. They’re going to Monster Trucks next weekend, but they are going to do Old Tucson with Tara’s aunt and uncle. They are coming in town. So, they’re going to go do that, I believe tomorrow afternoon before the game, They’re excited for it.

Zack Stortini

Now that you’re a coach you don’t have all the padding that the players have on the bench. You’re just wearing a suit. Do you ever have close calls with pucks or sticks on the bench?

Yeah, I don’t think you’re safe anywhere; that puck comes pretty quickly.  Our guys are great shot blockers all over the ice, so we thank them quite a bit for standing in there, maybe taking an extra one or you know reaching out and catching it…
