MORNING SKATE REPORT: MARCH 13, 2024

TUCSON, A.Z. – The Henderson Silver Knights will look to bounce back against the Tucson Roadrunners after a 4-0 loss on Tuesday evening. It marked the third time this season that the Silver Knights have been shut out in back-to-back games. Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m. PT.

GETTING TO THEIR GAME

For Head Coach Ryan Craig, it’s of the utmost importance that the Silver Knights come out with a strong and urgent start after last night’s results.

“We weren’t ready to play,” he said on Tuesday evening. “It’s on me to get the team ready…for us to go down 3-0 to start the game isn’t what we want.”

“I don’t think we’re inside enough. We had seven power plays tonight, but if you’re not willing to get to the inside, and if it’s your turn to go there, go there, then it’s tough to score goals.”

BEHIND ENEMY LINES

  • Forward Jan Jenik, who stands second on the team in both points and goals, tallied two points (1G, 1A) on Tuesday evening against the Silver Knights. He now has seven points in his last nine games and four in his last five. Janik has recorded five points (3G, 2A) in four games against Henderson this season.
  • Goaltender Matthew Villalta earned his third shutout of the season in Tuesday’s game, stopping 31 of 31 shots against. He rebounded after two tough games against Calgary and Coachella, giving up 5 goals on 26 shots and 7 goals on 23 shots respectively. Villalta is 4-0-1 against the Knights this season.
