Three stars and daily stat leaders for Feb. 27, 2024

THREE STARS

First star: Luke Dickerson, Morris Knolls-Hills

Dickerson put Morris Knolls-Hills on his back and scored all five of his teams goals in its 5-3 victory over KJS United in the Public Co-op, North semifinals. The senior put together a first period hat trick and then netted the game winner with 2:10 remaining in the third period. It was his second five-goal game of this season.

Second star: Jake Baratta, Northern Highlands

Baratta was near unstoppable on Tuesday night as he finished with a hat trick and led Northern Highlands to a 5-1 win over Chatham in the Public, North sectional semifinals. He opened the scored at 6:31 of the first period, and then with the Highlanders leading by a goal in the third period he padded the lead with two more goals at 11:35 and 7:09. It was his fifth hat trick of the season.

Third star: Daniel Sharkey, Randolph

Sharkey came up big when Randolph most needed it this season and scored two goals in the Rams’ 5-3 win over Ridgewood in the Public, North semifinals. Randolph trailed by two goals early on, but Sharkey managed to tie the game just 2:21 into the third period. After Ridgewood tied the game at 3-3 later, the sophomore scored the game winner with 44 seconds remaining to put Randolph on top for good.
