HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 8 Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey will host LIU for its final game of 2023 in Hamden, Conn. at M&T Bank Arena.
Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM on Saturday and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
AMONG THE NATION’S BEST
- QU ranks No. 5 nationally in scoring offense (3.85 goals per game) and No. 10 in scoring defense (1.75). The Bobcats also are ranked fifth in total assists nationally.
- Kate Reilly leads the Bobcats and all defenders across the country in points with 25 coming into the weekend. She’s also on a nine-game point streak.
- Sadie Peart is No. 3 nationally with 294 faceoff wins this season and is also fifth nationally in power play goals (5).
OVERTIME WIN AT NO. 12 PRINCETON
- On Saturday afternoon QU beat No. 12 Princeton 6-5 in a back-and-forth thriller in New Jersey.
- The Bobcats took a 3-1 lead heading into the first intermission despite being outshot 24-5 in the first period.
- Princeton would score four goals in the second period to take a 5-3 lead but the Bobcats would get two power-play from Kendall Cooper and Sadie Peart to knot the game at five in the third period.
- Halfway through overtime Kate Reilly found Sadie Peart in front of the net for the game-winner to complete the comeback.
HOME WEEKEND SWEEP OVER UNION & RPI
- Jess Schryver led the Bobcats with two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Union on Friday, Dec. 1. She also scored both goals in the third period to give extend the Bobcat lead.
- Emerson Jarvis and Kahlen Lamarche chipped in goals as well earlier in the contest.
- Kate Reilly notched her 78th career point as Bobcat to move into first place all time for Bobcat defenders, passing Regan Boulton ’13.
- On Saturday night, four different Bobcats scored enroute to a 4-2 win over RPI.
- Madison Chantler, Maddy Samoskevich, Veronica Bac, and Emerson Jarvis all scored for the Bobcats.
- Logan Angers made 44 saves combined over the weekend.
FOURTH STRAIGHT NUTMEG CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP
- The Bobcats continued their dominance over the state of Connecticut, topping No. 11 UConn and No. 13/12 Yale on back-to-back nights to capture their fourth straight Nutmeg Classic championship.
