Kronish, Harvey earn national honors


MADISON, Wis. – After leading the Badgers to their seventh NCAA title this month, Wisconsin women’s hockey goaltender Cami Kronish and defender Caroline Harvey were recognized with national honors by the Hockey Commissioners Association on Thursday.

Kronish was named the HCA Player of the Month and the HCA Goaltender of the Month, marking the first time the senior goaltender has earned HCA honors, while Harvey was named the HCA Rookie of the Month for the second time this season.

The 2023 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four Most Outstanding Performer, Kronish went 4-1-0 in the month with a .935 save percentage and a 1.52 goals-against average. The New York, New York, native was stellar in the NCAA tournament, posting a 1.17 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage while backstopping UW to its third NCAA title in the last five years. Her best performance came against No. 1 Ohio State as she stopped all 31 shots she faced to blank the Buckeyes, marking the first time this season that OSU was shut out.

 A native of Salem, New Hampshire, Harvey scored the biggest goal of her career in the semifinal of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four as the defender went top shelf against Minnesota in overtime to propel the Badgers past their Border Battle rival and into the NCAA title game. The 2022 Olympian posted four points in the month, which ranked third on the team, and had a +5 plus/minus rating that ranked second on the team.
