COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State fifth-year senior Emma Goldean added a significant line to her resume today when she was named a third team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Goldean, who earlier this fall earned All-Big Ten and NFHCA All-Region honors, is an All-American for the first time in her career. She’s the 24th player in program history to be named an All-American. Overall, those 24 players have garnered a total of 31 All-American honors.
A Charlotte, N.C. native, Goldean wrapped up her Buckeye career this season as the third leading scorer on the team with 16 points on five goals and six assists. She set Ohio State career records for games played (90) and games started (87). She had 17 goals, 17 assists and 51 points and produced 10 or more points in each of her final three seasons.
At the conclusion of the regular season, Goldean was named a second team All-Big Ten selection and also added Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors later in November. She, along with Leanne Bough, made the NFHCA All-West Region team. Goldean was a first-team pick.
Goldean’s play helped Ohio State win 11 games this past fall, its most since 2018. The Buckeyes finished strong, winning eight of their final 11 games to earn a spot in the conference tournament.
