COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State men’s hockey team improved to 7-1-1 on the year and 3-0 in the Big Ten with a 6-4 victory over No. 1-ranked Minnesota Friday in Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes led 1-0 after the first period. Minnesota tied the game early in the second but Ohio State scored three of the next four goals and led 4-2 after the second. The Buckeyes pushed the advantage to 6-2 less than eight minutes into the third and Minnesota scored the game’s final two goals for the 6-4 final. Twelve Buckeyes had a point in the win, led by Travis Treloar with two goals and Joe Dunlap with a goal and an assist.
The teams will close the weekend series at 5 p.m. Saturday, with the game streamed on B1G+ and on Ohio State Radio. Fans are invited to wear Halloween costumes and there will be trick or treating on the concourse pregame, with a Halloween bag giveaway for children.
