COLUMBUS, Ohio – The final weekend of the field hockey regular season sets up with two games for the 18th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. It starts with the Big Ten regular season finale on Friday at Michigan (6 p.m.) and continues with a Senior Day contest against Ball State on Sunday (1 p.m.).

Briefly on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State enters this weekend having won seven of its last eight games.
- Included in that stretch were a pair of wins last weekend: at Indiana (2-1) and at Bellarmine (5-1).
- The Buckeyes rank in the top 20 nationally in both goals scored per game (18th – 2.69) and goals against average (seventh – 1.05).
- Ohio State’s offense has been particularly hot as of late. In the last eight games, the Buckeyes are averaging 3.75 goals per game.
- Five players have 10 or more points this season: Sarah Charley (22), Leanne Bough (15), Makenna Webster (15), Emma Goldean (13) and Claudia Thomas (11).
- Charley is the team’s leading goal-scorer with 10. Both Bough and Webster each have six.
- Goalkeeper Abby Danson has five shutouts this season and is ranked nationally in save percentage (third – .821) and goals-against average (fourth – 0.95).
Senior Day 2022
- Ohio State will honor seven seniors on Sunday. They are: Leanne Bough, Delaney Lawler, Sarah Charley, Grace Kim, Malen Iglesias, Janekke Van Stophout and Emma Goldean.
History vs. Michigan & Ball State
- One of the most-played games in Ohio State field hockey history, Friday’s meeting will be the 72nd all-time meeting between the two rivals.
- Michigan leads the series, 46-24-2, with the last Ohio State win occurring in 2011.
- The Buckeyes’ last win in Ann Arbor was on Oct. 22, 2010.
- Ohio State and Ball State will be meeting for the 26th time. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 18-7.
- Last year in Muncie, Ind., Ohio State opened its season with a 1-0 win over the Cardinals.
Big Ten Tournament Briefing
- Buckeye Varsity Field will host the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament for the first time since 2013 the weekend on Nov. 3-6.
