COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 24th season of Ohio State women’s hockey has been set as head coach Nadine Muzerall, along with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, announced Monday the 2022 NCAA champion Buckeyes’ 2022-23 conference schedule. The team will play 28 total league games, including seven home series.
Opening the 2022-23 season on the road, Ohio State meets Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn. the weekend of Sept. 30-Oct. 1. The Buckeyes host their first home series of the year against St. Cloud State Oct. 7-8 at the OSU Ice Rink.
The October slate features the first of two series against the Buckeyes’ national championship and WCHA Final Faceoff championship opponents of Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 21-22) and Minnesota (Oct. 28-29), respectively. Ohio State will host both series in Columbus before meeting the Bulldogs in Duluth on Dec. 2-3 and the Gophers in Minneapolis on Feb. 3-4.
Also set for the first half of the regular season are road matchups against Bemidji State (Oct. 15-16) and St. Thomas (Nov. 5-6) and home series against the Beavers (Nov. 18-19).
Ohio State kicks off the second half of the season, and the new year, against Wisconsin (Jan. 13-14). The Buckeyes and the Badgers will meet again in the final regular season series of the year in Madison (Feb. 17-18).
WCHA series to round out the remainder of the regular season include away games at St. Cloud St. (Jan. 20-21) and home against Minnesota State (Jan. 27-28) and St. Thomas (Feb. 10-11).
Following the regular season, all eight league teams advance to the 2023 WCHA Postseason Tournament, with seeding set by their finish in the WCHA standings. The top four seeds each host a best-of-three quarterfinal series the weekend of Feb. 24-26, with the four winners advancing to meet at the WCHA Final Faceoff on March 3-4.
