Junior defender Nadia Mattivi of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team will skate for the Italian National Team at the IIHF World Championship for Division I, Group B, which begins on Friday in Katowice, Poland.
Italy will begin round robin play on Friday against Slovenia. Italy will then face China on Saturday, followed by games against Kazakhstan (April 11), Poland (April 12) and South Korea (April 14). The winner of the group will earn promotion to Group A.
Mattivi is no stranger to the international stage, as she most recently represented Italy in Olympic pre-qualification this past November. The Baselga Di Pinè, Trento, native helped her country reach the final round of qualification.
