When the clock dipped below three minutes, it seemed that the only question was if Hillsborough would be able to preserve Jason LoRicco’s shutout bid.
In the span of 84 seconds, the question became much more serious.
St. Joseph (Met.) scored twice in rapid succession to make it a one-goal game with 1:03 to go.
Luckily for the Raiders, LoRicco was on his game and shut the door from there. He stopped 37 total shots to backstop Hillsborough to a hard-fought 3-2 win over St. Joseph (Met.) at Flemington Ice Arena in Flemington.
LoRicco has now posted a .933 save percentage across his last three starts.
“Every game is going to be different if the’s not in the net for us,” said Hillsborough coach Beuk Forrest. Our backup Louis Bizzoco has been amazing when he comes in but this is Jason’s fourth year. He’s been doing it for four years. He’s our rock. Without him, we’re nowhere near the team we are.”
