For the third straight series — all against high-end teams mind you — North Dakota looked bad on a Friday, only to turn it around with a big Saturday win.

Two weeks ago, it was Minnesota-Duluth, a 4-1 loss followed by a 2-1 win. Last week, the Hawks were spanked by archrival Minnesota, 5-1, on Friday, then battened down the hatches again, allowing just 13 shots in a 3-2 win.

This time, it was at St. Cloud State, and it was ugly — another one-goal Friday in a 8-1 loss, that included a spearing penalty to defenseman Chris Jandric and a suspension for Saturday.

But again North Dakota turned it around, defeating the Huskies, 5-3.

It didn’t look good early though. For the second straight game, St. Cloud State scored in the opening minute. Friday it was 18 seconds in; Saturday…
