#5 Duke

DURHAM, NC – The No. 4 Maryland (2-1) Terrapins fell for the first time in 2025 to No. 8 Boston College (3-0) 2-0 to open the B1G/ACC Challenge on Friday. The Eagles scored the go-ahead goal in the 3rd quarter and got an insurance goal in the 4th on a penalty shot.

It finally came midway through the 3rd quarter on a shot from Boston College’s Melea Weber on the Eagles’ third shot of the match. BC’s Carolina Chisholm scored in the final frame to ice the win for Boston College.

How it Happened:

  • Boston College’s Mia Garber recorded the match’s first shot in the sixth minute.
  • Hollamon recorded Maryland’s first shot in the 11th minute.
  • The 1st quarter featured three total shots as the Terps and Eagles battled defensively.

2nd Quarter:

  • Hollamon had all three of Maryland’s first-half shots, two coming in the second quarter, but the teams remained locked 0-0 at the half.

3rd Quarter:

  • Boston College scored in the 37th minute on a shot from Weber.
  • The Eagles fought off a Maryland corner in the 41st minute.
  • UMD’s Callie Rogers forced the BC goalkeeper to make a save on a great look in the 43rd minute.
