The Edmonton Oilers are going to be a team to watch this season for several reasons. Firstly, they are coming off their second straight Stanley Cup Final loss and will have even more motivation to push for their first championship since 1990. Second, the team has a lot of extensions to deal with, specifically Connor McDavid, who could become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) next summer. Lastly, fans have called for a change between the pipes, and while nothing has happened yet, something may still come during the season.

Oilers & Bruins Talking Lysell Trade?
Over the last couple of days, reports have come out that the Oilers are interested in Bruins’ forward Fabian Lysell.

Lysell, who is 22 years old, has three points through 12 NHL games. With the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season, he scored 11 goals and added 23 assists for 34 points through 52 games. Through 162 career AHL games, he has scored 40 goals and added 81 assists for 121 points, which comes out to a 0.75 points-per-game average.
While no other sources have followed up on this, this seems like something worth keeping an eye on.
Stuart Skinner Confident Group Can Bounce Back
In a recent article by Derek Van Diest, Stuart Skinner mentioned that he was confident that the Oilers would be able to regroup faster from their latest loss than previously.
