CHN Staff Report
Joining the trend of Major Junior players coming to college hockey post-draft, Providence has signed forward Roger McQueen to an athletic aid agreement for 2025-26.
McQueen was selected by Anaheim with the 10th overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft. He becomes the first top-10 draft pick and sixth overall first-round pick in program history.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 197-pound forward had 35 goals and 86 points in 127 career games for Brandon (WHL). He was 10-10—20 in 17 games last season; he was limited by an injury — a stress fracture in his spine — incurred prior to the 2023-24 season, though he played through it. Last year, he played the first five games, sat out for five months, then returned late in the season.
McQueen had a clean bill of health at the NHL Scouting Combine.
At Providence, he’ll reunite with former Brandon teammate Quinn Mantei.
