The summer event season is in full swing across the Bay of Quinte Region, and the Bellville Senators have been a regular fixture in the community again, so far this offseason.
Since the start of May, the Belleville Sens staff and mascot, Belly, have supported nearly 15 community events, including charity golf tournaments, fundraisers, festivals, and more. Here’s a breakdown of where Belly’s been over the last couple of months, along with some information on the groups and organizations the Belleville Sens are supporting, and how you can get involved too!
Community Festivals & Events
The bulk of the summer so far has seen Belly bounce around to various community events and festivals, handing out the best high-fives in the AHL, and bringing his energy and community spirit! Among the events supported this offseason, the Senators have backed the City of Belleville’s “Activities in the Park” and Canada Day festivities, the Belleville Downtown District’s “Downtown at Dusk”, the United Way of Hastings Prince Edward’s “Day of Caring”, and the “World’s Largest Yard Sale”. Belly also made visits to the Belleville Children’s Safety Village for their annual Bike Helmet Giveaway, and the Children’s Foundation’s annual “Reach for Success Awards.” He even stopped by the 2025 Ontario Boccia Championships, hosted last weekend at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Corporate Partner Fundraisers
Belly has also been a prominent figure at fundraising events hosted by local corporate partners, including Tim Horton’s and McDonald’s restaurants. Belly was at the Bridge Street West Tim Horton’s to help decorate cookies for the annual Smile Cookie Campaign, and was back again recently for the annual Camp Day, raising money to send local kids to summer camps. He also stopped by the North Front Street McDonald’s on McHappy Day, helping to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and other local organizations.
Charity Golf Tournaments
And, the Senators continue to support various community charity golf tournaments through on-course activations, visits from Belly, and silent auction prize donations. So far this summer, the Senators have been on site at charity tournaments for the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce, Hospice Quinte, and the Endless Summer Pro-Am.
