Trailing 0–3 in the Eastern Conference Final against the Charlotte Checkers, the Laval Rocket is far from throwing in the towel ahead of Game 4 of the series.

Charlotte, North Carolina –
“It ain’t over till it’s over,” as former New York Mets manager Yogi Berra once said. It’s with that mindset that the Rocket believes it still has a shot in this series, despite the gap to close.
“We’ve always believed in our group, and we have to keep believing right now,” said Adam Engström on the eve of the matchup.
So on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., the Rocket will try to earn its first win of the series and stave off elimination.
If the Rocket wins Tuesday’s game, Game 5 of the series will be played Thursday night at Bojangles Coliseum.
“ONE STEP AT A TIME”
As the saying goes, “Don’t put the cart before the horse.” For the Laval club, that old expression fits the current situation perfectly.
There’s no talk of winning four straight games against the Checkers. The mission is instead to focus on small, achievable goals that can snowball into something bigger.
“We’ll start by trying to win a shift, then a period. We need to take it one step at a time. If we can do that, we’ll generate the rhythm and confidence we need to beat them,” said David Reinbacher on Monday.
A START FOR FOWLER
For the first time in this series, Jacob Fowler will get the start. Pascal Vincent confirmed the decision after Sunday night’s game.
The 20-year-old goaltender came in as relief in the last two games, allowing just two goals over 59 minutes and 41 seconds of play. He won his first three playoff starts, all against the Cleveland Monsters, but came up short in both of his starts against the Rochester Americans.
“Knowing Jacob — at least a bit since he got here — I’m convinced he wants the spotlight on him. He wants that pressure. He has the personality to bounce back in a game as important as this one,” said Pascal Vincent about his goalie.
THREE STATISTICS
