With the NHL Trade Deadline less than a week away, the trades have begun rolling in. Former Vancouver Canucks forward Jimmy Vesey, defender Charlie Lindgren, and the rights to prospect Hank Kempf were sent to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. In exchange, the New York Rangers received Calvin de Haan, Juuso Parssinen, and conditional second and fourth-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Vesey, who was initially drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 2012 NHL Draft, first started his career off with the Rangers. After a series of stints elsewhere, such as with the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and New Jersey Devils, he ended up back with the Rangers. Prior to this, he spent 20 games with the Canucks during the 2020-21 season, registering three assists in this span of time.

During his 616-game NHL career, Vesey has played with five teams. 434 of these games have been played as a member of the Rangers. Recently, on February 23, Vesey scored his 100th career NHL goal.

With more trades piling in, it’s only a matter of time before fans will see what a finalized Canucks roster looks like by the end of the trade deadline.
