Colgate kept the good times rolling with a 4-0 win over RPI. While an at-large NCAA bid is unlikely for the Raiders, they have moved up to No. 19 after going 8-2-1 in their last 11 games. Defenseman Tommy Bergsland scored twice, and junior goalie Andrew Takacs earned his second shutout.

“I got lucky and got the puck in good spots,” Bergsland said. “I just tried to get them on the net, and luckily, they both went in. As we enter this final stretch of the season, we are just trying to get our details down and get pucks on goal, and I think tonight was a great response.”

Colgate is also just one point behind Quinnipiac for first place in the league, after the Bobcats dropped an overtime game to Clarkson. Clarkson’s two wins this weekend have it up to fourth in the league, four points behind Quinnipiac in an increasingly-tight race. Clarkson had just 17 shots for the game, but made the last one count, Tristan Sarsland’s 3-on-3 OT winner.

Union has also inserted itself into the top four after a 4-1 win at Lynah Rink. Union is 4-0-2 in its last six, including two shootout wins. The latest win came as junior Brandon Buhr had a hat trick, bringing him to 16 goals on the season.

In Atlantic Hockey, it looked like Sacred Heart had a nice stranglehold on first place in the league after a recent sweep of Niagara. It would be the Pioneers first regular-season crown.

But Holy Cross has other plans. The Crusaders have won eight in a row, six of them in regulation, and zoomed into the top spot with four games remaning. Holy Cross and Sacred Heart are tied, but the Pioneers have only two league games remaining.

Sacred Heart stumbled this weekend against Army, losing a shootout Friday then dropping a 5-3 decision Saturday. Meanwhile Holy Cross blitzed RIT by 9-2 and 3-0 scores.
